TickerInk Development ("we", "our", "us") operates the TickerInk mobile application and companion LED display hardware. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Email address and password (stored as a secure hash) when you create an account.
Device Information: A unique hardware identifier (controller ID) that links your TickerInk LED display to your account.
User Preferences: The sports teams, stocks, cryptocurrencies, weather zip codes, social media usernames, and other display preferences you configure in the app.

We do not collect precise location data (GPS). Weather features use a zip code that you manually enter. We do not collect contacts, photos, or any data from your phone beyond what is needed to operate the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

Authenticate your account and secure your data.
Deliver personalized content (scores, prices, weather, etc.) to your TickerInk LED display.
Send transactional emails such as password resets and welcome messages.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not display ads in our app.

We may use third-party services to operate our platform (such as cloud hosting and email delivery), and these services process data only as needed to provide their functionality to us.

4. Data Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing and are never stored in plain text.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will mark it as deleted and anonymize your personal information within 30 days. Device configuration data associated with deleted accounts is also removed.

6. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Account Settings screen in the TickerInk app. Alternatively, you may request deletion by emailing support@tickerink.com. Upon deletion:

Your account is immediately deactivated and you will be logged out.
Your personal data (email, preferences) will be anonymized within 30 days.
This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
